Character Information
*Character Name: Rafael 'Raf' Esquivel
*Character Canon: Transformers: Prime
*Age: 12 and a quarter!...though probably nearly 12 and a half at this rate.
*Race: Human!
*Timeline/Pull Point: Mid-Triage - Season 2, Episode 14 (Ep. 40 in full series). Since I haven't actually seen Toxicity at time of apping...

*History: Wiki page.

*Personality: Let's start with Age and Maturity. Raf is a twelve year old kid who acts like he's in his later teens, at least in general maturity, because most often than not he's relatively serious and level-minded. He does act his age, especially with him seeing things rather simply most of the time, but he's not the sort of child genius who's smart without any experience. Raf may not be a grown up, but he has grown up faster than most of his peers have.

Possibly this is because of already being in High School. It's not hard to imagine he didn't have the easiest time growing up, because kids will pick on anyone who's different. Especially in High School. Raf seems pretty well-adjusted, though, but he's very happy to take the escape the Autobots offer him - even with it being terrifying. This can be followed through to the fact that he is extremely close to Bumblebee, trusting him with his life and being willing to risk his life for Bumblebee - even when it was endangered when Bee was possessed by Megatron. He knew, beyond a doubt, that Bumblebee wouldn't hurt him - and he was willing to risk his life on it.

It was a successful gamble, at least in the show. So? When Raf trusts someone, he trusts them...possibly blindly. When he's close to someone, he's close, to the point of believing in them even when all seems lost. These could be blamed on him being a kid...or that he just has very strong beliefs. But even belief can be shaken, and Raf has shown that there are times he cracks and despairs and wonders if this isn't too much for him after all maybe he should just go home.

When that happened, though, being pointed at a computer immediately cheered him up, or at least pulled him out of his funk and in to a focus, 'this is what I can actually control when the world is going out of my control'. It's clear that he's fond of technology, and, hell, with how he's basically a savant at it? It's no wonder. Technology makes sense. He understood digital code when he was three. Raf and computers are a goddamn OTP, and nothing will ever tear them apart.

For the most part, though, Raf is a pretty cheerful kidguy. He's positive minded, even if he's a bit on the conservative side when it comes to risk-taking. He'd prefer nobody gets hurt, and that maybe we should stay out of danger and stick to the rules, guys. But he'll follow his friends in to that danger, not because he's a follower - but because he wants to make sure that they come out all right. He'll respect someone saying they can handle it, especially if they can handle it...but he won't like it, if he feels there's something he can do.

For all that he is somewhat conservative? He's not a do-nothing kid. If there's something he can do to help, he wants to. Even if it's out of his league, let him at least try. More often than not, he'll surprise you.

*Powers/Abilities: Raf is...pretty much a normal human kid. There's a few things worth noting, though - such as the fact that he can understand digital code, and has since he was three. Building off this, Raf is a technological savant, a literal whiz-kid, able to hack in to government systems and other secure items even if he can be kicked out with only so much difficulty. The fact is, he can get in. And if you can't notice him to kick him out, he's gold.

And bear in mind? This is a kid who wrote a virus for a Cybertronian dataframe. A virus subtle enough not to be noticed by a top hacker - to be fair, said hacker wasn't exactly looking for it, but the point remains. Or maybe he did and this was all going to the hacker's plan. Still, even if that's the case, he was immediately trusted to write it in the first place.

*Inventory: Aside from his clothing, I'd like Raf to come in with his laptop as well. With permission, I'd like him to modify it to serve as a backup to the Link Device he'll be given. He'll also have a cellphone (relatively useless), the remote to his RC car (practically useless without the car coming in with him), and two-fifty in change.

*Starting Polarity: I'd like to start Raf with an alignment to Alpha Trion. It makes sense that he'd be tied to the nerdy scholarly Original, being all nerdy scholarly himself.

Writing Samples
*First Person Sample: [Raf's found it more useful to stick to audio, and this isn't any difference. something about seeing his face seems to make a lot of the others on here take him a lot less...seriously.

but he's definitely serious, now. a little worried, maybe.
]

Has anyone seen Bumblebee? He was- we were going to go out and explore, a little bit, past the Haven. He was going to pick me up, but he said he'd be here an hour ago and I haven't heard from him about any sort of change...

[and the last time this happened, it was because he was partially taken over by the Big Bad of the Decepticons, himself. so Raf has every reason to be concerned, though he's doing his best to sound calm.]

He's coming from Nexus's quadrant, I think- has anyone over there seen him?

*Third Person Sample:

"Bumblebee?"

He'd woken up about ten minutes ago, and spent the first half of it trying not to panic. Now, though...now, he'd gone from fear to confusion to worry to...well, he wasn't sure where he was, now. Other than the obvious.

"Jack? Miko?"

Lost.

Even the sky was weird; it seemed at a perpetual dusk, with the stars above, but they weren't ones he recognized. Out of childish habit, he'd tried finding a familiar constellation, and- well, there wasn't one. No Big Dipper. No North Star. No Orion.

"...Optimus?"

But the biggest hint that he wasn't anywhere near home was the white streak across the sky. That, he'd never seen before. It almost seemed like a cluster of stars, but within that streak...nothing. Black. A flat black hole, ringed with white? He couldn't possibly imagine what it was, even if he knew that his guess was wrong. Had to be wrong.

"Anyone? Ratchet?"

And here he was, all alone. His cellphone wasn't getting a single bar of reception - not that it would, really, it didn't exactly look like the place with any towers - but...

The only thing he could think of was to get to higher ground. There was something in the distance, not too far, but it looked like he could climb on it; Raf made his way towards it, still calling for his friends but with diminishing hope they could possibly hear him.

Final Notes: i want his hair to be magically able to stay in its shape without hairspray

and also i want a pony
